As our Head of Competitive & Strategic Insights (m/f/d), you`ll drive global insights for assets across all development stages. As a strategic partner to our Global Product Teams (GPTs), you will shape overall asset strategy and influence critical development decisions.

 

YOUR CONTRIBUTION

  • Holistic Insights Generation: Derive actionable insights from diverse perspectives, including patients, healthcare professionals, payors, competitors, and the competitive intelligence landscape

  • Strategic CI Planning and Execution: Drive and execute the CI plan to support research and clinical insights across the asset portfolio. Ensure robust methodology and timely execution through expert vendor selection

  • Leadership and Team Direction: Provide strong leadership and direction to the Global Competitive & Strategic Insights team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment

  • Scientific Proficiency: Apply scientific proficiency to inform and align with clinical and discovery scientists, evaluating early development targets, trends, and assets

  • CI Expertise: Act as a CI expert, demonstrating awareness and understanding of appropriate CI applications and key internal and external data sources

  • Therapeutic Area Insights: Develop CI and generate insights across Neurology key areas (Movement disorders, chronic pain and pipeline projects) and other key therapeutic areas (e.g. urology, rare diseases) as well as general trends in biopharma/tech

  • Strategic Partnerships: Create strategic partnerships with internal stakeholders (Marketing, Digital, R&D leadership, Global Medical Affairs, Development, and Corporate Development)

  • Influential Voice: Be an influential voice regarding R&D and Corporate Development CI within the organization. Advise senior management on CI topics and implications for Merz

  • Innovation and efficiency: Bring innovative methodologies and approaches into the organization to enable process efficiency, ease of access and content management on highest standard of professional conduct

YOUR PROFILE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in health/life sciences required; Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD) in Life Sciences/Medicine is preferred

  • Strong background in Pharma/Biotech with profound experience in CI or market research in Pharma/Biotech pipeline assets; Neurology clinical development/regulatory experience preferred

  • Superior analytical skills are required with an understanding of a broad range of CI & market research methodologies Experience in multiple regions (required) and US (preferred)

  • Proficiency with global and regional CI vendors necessary to assess clinical status and end to end overall strategy of competitive assets required

  • Executive presence with strong oral, facilitating and written communication skills; ability to distil complex information synthesized into concise and impactful messages and communications

  • Ability to interact effectively with to all levels of the organization; Stakeholder management and executive presence
